SSWC 2016 College Scholarship Writing Competition
Sacramento Suburban Writers Club is offering a generous College Scholarship to a local high school senior or college student interested in pursuing a career or future that includes writing. Last year our scholarship was $1000. We hope to raise as much for the 2016 scholarship.
The application contains all the rules and instructions for the students to follow to apply for the scholarship. The SSWC Scholarship ends upon the receipt of the first 30 applicants (as recorded by date and time of incoming emails) or April 30, 2016, whichever comes first (note: Deadline extended!).
The winner of the SSWC Scholarship Writing Competition will be awarded a certificate at our Awards Banquet in May, 2016, (exact date not set yet). The funds will be paid directly to the college of his or her choice when they are enrolled.
The students must write answers to five questions and write an interesting and well-written story or essay (submitted as a Word document or PDF file). The answers and story must be attached to an email and sent to scholarship@sactowriters.org. Their entries will be judged by an SSWC Committee to determine the winner of the SSWC Writing Competition Scholarship.
An English teacher will have to answer a simple, one sentence question to qualify the student as a candidate (see application).
Thank you,
Tammy Andrews, SSWC Scholarship and Young Authors Program Coordinator Lavendersunset54@yahoo.com
